RICHLIFE RIPPER
FUNCTIONAL FITNESS RACE
The Ripper combines both running & functional workout stations, where participants complete 1 stationary fitness station, followed by a travelling fitness station, followed by a 2-3km run, repeated 3 times.
The race is hosted outdoors at Den Duyf Park in Pemberton. The functional workout stations are set on a manicured grass soccer field with the 3 run intervals moving through a double track trail in the nearby forest. With the backdrop of Mt Currie this will create an incredible setting where your spectators can support you from the very beginning to the very end.
This race is for anyone wanting a physical challenge, some friendly competition and to experience great vibes, music and breathtaking scenery.

SINGLES AND DOUBLES
You can compete as a single or a double. For the singles (male and female) you complete the full course with the prescribed loading above. Your race will be timed and there will be a podium for the top three. For this first year we will not be doing age group categories, you’re all in it together.
For the doubles you can compete male/male, female/female, or mixed. Each participant much complete the full reps on station 1, 4 and 7 at the prescribed loading for your gender. On the travelling stations 2, 5 and 8 you may split up the work however you want. Each participant must complete run 1 in full. For run 2 and run 3 one participant may pause at the run 1 turnaround as their partner continues to the net turnaround. You may do the full distances as a pair however it is not necessary.
JUDGING
There will be volunteer judges at each station and volunteers at the run turnarounds. We will be heavily relying on a honour system. Enforce your own moral compass and hit the standards. If standards are not met (and they aren’t that strict) then the participant may be asked by the judges to redo reps, or retreat distance.
This is our first year, and volunteers will be stretched. This is not the Crossfit Games, there are no world championships on the line, if you post an impressive time you will not be called up to the Olympic squad.
Work your ass off, hit the standards and respect the volunteers. Any abuse to volunteers will result in disqualification from the event plus a full refund of your entry fee, only to be used on a session with a registered therapist ;)
